The Coffee Club Gold Coast Food Review

Gold Coast . 2012 . Aug 07-13

Our very first meal at Gold Coast was at The Coffee Club, since it was conveniently located across the street from Vibe Hotel and caught the attention of two of us very hungry people who had just spent a night on the plane and had no supper or breakfast on Scoot.   We would have gone looking for other food, if not for the fact that we were pressed for time to start our itinerary for our day at Sea World Gold CoastThe Coffee Club appeals to us as we could smell the aroma of coffee from afar.  And I thought – why not? I am obsessed with the high quality of coffee in any part of Australia, and having a nice cup of coffee before we start our hectic day seems like a bright idea.

What we liked most about every Coffee Club outlet around the world is its cozy atmosphere – the kind that lets you escape from the weather, feel sheltered and at home while enjoying some comforting food.

The Coffee

You know you can depend on Coffee Club for a coffee fix – no surprises there.

We ordered a hot mocha and a hot chocolate and they look almost identical when served.  Can you tell which is which? Taste-wise, the hot chocolate is a lot sweeter than the mocha and of course, as a coffee lover, I would prefer a hint of coffee in my drink.

The Food

Eggs Benedict – it’s basically toast, poached eggs and bacon topped with hollandaise sauce (a sauce made from egg yolks and butter).  Smooth and creamy, and its flavour is rich and buttery but as with all eggs benedicts, its rich texture could be quite overwhelming for some.

I still prefer my American-style breakfast of bacon, eggs, tomato and toast.  It is nicely done up, served piping hot and savoury.

The Bill

The bill comes up to be:

Eggs Benedict with shaved lean ham (AUD$17.90)
Classic bacon, eggs, tomato and toast (AUD$15.90)
Hot Chocolate (AUD$4.80)
Hot Mocha (AUD$4.50)

Total: AUD$43.10

The total bill for breakfast comes up to be quite a hefty sum for budget travellers with shallow pockets.  But their food and coffee are well worth the price and we’ll come back again anytime for breakfast!

Have a look at other items on their menu!

Note that their breakfast items are available for all-day!
