Hotel Review: Hampton Inn Seattle-Airport

Los Angeles (Alaska Pre Cruise) . 2012 . September 12

We arrived at Seattle–Tacoma International Airport at around 1.30pm after our three and a half hours' flight from Fairbanks on board Alaska Airlines. After clearing the customs, it was time to find the hotel shuttle stand for a complimentary ride to Hampton Inn Seattle Airport, our accommodation for the night at Seattle.

Look out for signs that says "Courtesy Vehicles" and it should direct you to the waiting area.

Do note that there are a number of Hampton Inns near the Seattle Airport area, so make sure you check with the shuttle bus driver and board the correct shuttle! You can use the phone at the booth to make a complimentary call to your hotel by dialling the numbers corresponding to your hotel to arrange for a pick-up.

Welcome to Hampton Inn Seattle Airport! After a short ride on the courtesy vehicle, we soon arrived at Hampton Inn Seattle Airport.

This was not the first time that we stayed in the Hampton Inn chain of hotels. We had stayed at Hampton Inn Harriman Woodbury for a night when we went to the Premium Outlet for shopping at Woodbury. We had also stayed in Hampton Inn Manhattan-Chelsea in New York City while we were there.

The Surroundings

We were assigned Room #324 and it was a long walk along the corridors to the room.

It reads ‘Oh My Gosh, The Bed Is So Clean’, duvet covers and sheets are changed for every guest.  This is kind of scary, as it seems to imply that other hotels in the United States do not have this basic hygiene practice!

The Room

As mentioned earlier, we’ve stayed in several Hampton Inns in the United States in the past year, but the Hampton Inn Seattle Airport has the most spacious room for us.  Its contemporary design creates a smoothing and relaxing atmosphere, perfect for frequent flyers like us.

View from the Room.

The Bathroom

Even the bathroom is the most spacious amongst all the Hampton Inns we’ve stayed in.  It is clean, shiny and well-furnished.

Complimentary Breakfast

As with all other Hampton Inns, the Hampton Inn Seattle Airport provides complimentary breakfast to all its guests.  Do not expect a grand affair, but more of a home-made style breakfast for you. Typically, there are some hot items such as hash browns and a toaster for self service toasted bread.

Our breakfast. Muffins, ham and a cup of orange juice.

The Airport Shuttle Service

As with all other airport hotels, the Hampton Inn Seattle Airport provides a complimentary shuttle service that keeps looping between the airport and the hotel.  We must point out that in comparison to the impressive airport shuttle we experience at Four Points by Sheraton LAX , the shuttle service here is the most disappointing.  For one thing, there seemed to be a lack of or miscommunication between the hotel’s front desk and the driver, resulting in us waiting in vain for a shuttle which left without us.  For another thing, the driver was not apologetic and was more keen in his telephone conversation rather than concentrating on the roads.

Final Verdict:

Overall, the Hampton Inn Seattle Airport is a great stay with clean rooms and facilities.  We would stay here again.
