Alaska CruiseTour . 2012 . Sep 22
The Mountain View Dining Room is one of three restaurants at the Mt McKinley Princess Wilderness Lodge (the other two are the Grizzly Bar and the 20,320 Alaskan Grill).
The menu at the Mountain View Dining Room.
This is the first dinner after disembarking from the Diamond Princess, and we are still not used to seeing a price tag after an item after our meals on board the cruise ship!
We had a window seat and could watch the sunset among the Alaskan mountain ranges.
The waiter was mostly attentive and offered us his suggestions on the menu. Regetting that we did not eat at the Tracy's King Crab Shack, we had decided that we would eat the King Crab legs this time.
The meal started with complimentary bread with butter.
Alaskan King Crab Cakes with Lemon Buerre Blanc (USD $12). This is quite an exotic mix of flavours. Try it!
Beer Battered Fish n Chips (USD $15). A little too oily for our liking.
Bering Sea Crab Legs (USD $49). Yummy.
We thought we could stomach more food in the form of dessert, but the king crab legs really make us full...
The menu looks tempting, right?
Total cost of the meal was USD $76.
As Alaska is part of the United States, the tipping culture in the U.S still applies. As a generally rule, it should be around 15% of the total bill, or more if you find the service to be good.
Overall, we had a good meal after an early morning train ride and a long day of hiking!
You might want to check the website of the Mountain View Dining Room here!
They do provide online pdf menus on their site and we noted that prices have in fact gone lower!
