Take a Cool Dip if you dare!

The misty morning soon gave way to a gloriously sunny afternoon, but don't be misled by the pictures.  It may be sunny, and the temperature for the day may only be 11 to 14 °C, but the winds are ultra strong, making the open decks one of the coldest places on the ship.

Enjoy a dip at the outdoor pool and hot tubs.   The outdoor pool is virtually deserted because it really is too cold to be outdoors, so if you can brave the cold, you can have most of the pool to yourself.

Tip:  Pool towels are available inside the cabin and the cabin steward will replace them with fresh ones when they clean your room. We also use them as blankets on the deck chairs in our balcony and in the open decks, or to line them when they are wet.

There are plenty of deck chairs around at the open decks, but no one would brave the cold to sit here.

Indoor swimming pool and hot tub looks a lot more inviting.

Remember to get some fries, hot dogs and pizzas from the Trident Grill located just next to the pool after your swim. 

There is even a table-tennis table here!

View from Skywalkers Nightclub

The Skywalkers Nightclub located on Deck 17 aft is one of the best and quietest indoor places to get a bird's eye view of the cruise. You will also not be subject to the elements and is one of those ideal places to order a nice beverage and read a book. We went in for a peek although we did not order anything there.

Time to burn your calories @ Fitness Center

After all the heavy eating during the cruise, it is time for some workout at the Fitness Center  (aka gym) at Deck 15 forward to burn those extra calories.  Remember to bring your sports wear for the cruise.    Those who has some spare cash to spend can consider the Lotus Spa located just next to the Fitness Center.

Library @ the Diamond Princess

If you forget to bring a novel with you, fret not!  There are plenty of choices at the Library located at Deck 5 midship.  Although Calypso Cove sells a small selection of new novels, there is really no need to spend your money there, just walk in to the library and select a novel of your liking any time during your cruise.  Just remember to put it back on the shelf before you disembark so that other passengers can enjoy them too.  There are also card and board games available, many of which are still wrapped up and brand new! 

 If you would rather enjoy the book or the card/board games at the library, Princess Cruises also makes sure that you do so comfortably in the armchairs provided.

Free Movie Channels in the Stateroom

It's a rest and relax day, so we went back to our cabin for some free movies. Princess Cruises has lined up some very good and recent movies for the entire cruise.  We found that many of those movies are actually the same ones offered on KrisWorld on our flight on Singapore Airlines to USA. Do check out Channel 21 on your Stateroom TV for the movies!

Today, we are watching Twilight: Breaking Dawn Part I on the Romance Channel.  Other movies on board include 'Prometheus', 'Snow White and the Huntsman', and 'Mirror, Mirror'.
