Seattle (Alaska Post Cruise) . 2012 . September 25
While in Seattle, why not visit the very first Starbucks store, also known as the Original Starbucks. Starbucks, the biggest coffee company in the world had a humble beginning right here in Seattle, a town well known for its high standard of coffee. The story began in 1971 where Starbucks started out as a local coffee bean roaster and retailer. The original storefront was located at 2000 Western Avenue. In 1977, it moved one block to 1912 Pike Place where it still sits now.
Located at the famous Pike Place Market, the original Starbucks store is not easy to miss, given the throngs of tourists that swamp the store every day.
While you are there, remember to pick up some merchandise which are unique only to this particular Starbucks store. There are so many to choose from and they all look so pretty!
Those on the shelf are only for display purposes. The brand new boxed merchandise are available at the counter when you place your beverage order.
If you have a coffee maker you might want to buy some pre packed blends back home. This store does sell some unique blends that you can only find here.
For those of us who do not own a coffee maker, we can always enjoy the blended coffee in the store, especially when they do offer quite a number of blends that can only be served from this store.
